Flights to Belize have become so much more frequent and the routing so much easier since we flew there 20 years ago!  We had planned to go back to Belize for our 20 year anniversary and so we did.  November 2017, we boarded a flight at 10:30pm from YVR to Belize city- via Toronto.  The 5 hour flight to Toronto was uneventful, we slept as best we could.  We arrived at 6am, had a bite to eat and caught some more zzz’s and boarded our next fight at 10am for Belize City.  We landed at 1:30 local time to a gorgeous sunshine filled day.  The airport is still small and hasn’t changed much; we lined up for customs and picked up our luggage only to check it in right away on our Tropic Air flight to Ambergris Caye.  A short 20 minute flight and we were in San Pedro!  This has changed- the airport is much bigger and the city has grown to a bustling busy town.  We caught our golf cart “limo” over to Ramone’s Village- a 1 minute drive!  Checked in to our stunning ocean room and sat back and relaxed- we had arrived.  I felt that I had to jump in the ocean- it is so calm, so blue and so inviting!  A late afternoon swim was heavenly- my happy place! After a bit of relaxing and taking it all in- we headed in to town, a short walk and in search of Elvi’s.  We had eaten there 20 years ago and wouldn’t you know it, it is still around.  I had a shrimp coconut curry that was off the charts good and Frank a  seafood dish of sort- when on the ocean, one needs to eat as much seafood as possible.  After a long day of travel we were ready for a good nights sleep and we slept like logs.IMG_9684qdvUqNBfSgakxrzzjsb9bQIrRc+LcWS4iPDyOwgCtMEw66R3MsxRTWedKvlmhi04JABGVfpVxtQP6lM1W+vP7QVA
