Day by Day Travels

Thursday morning dawned- we had our last breakfast was at Estel’s. Then a little walk around town and Ramon’s. We will miss this place. Good news was were flying Tropic Air to Placencia -via Belize City, and only had to be at the airport 30 minutes before flight time. We got to spend as much time as possible before we jetted off.

Our Flight went up and down many times; from San Pedro, to Belize City Municipal Airport- Belize City International Airport – Dangriga- then Placencia – we had arrived. The shuttle picked us up and drove us along the most speed bumpy highway we have every experienced, to the Belize Ocean Club 30 minutes north of town. We checked in and were a little early. Lunch by the pool was in order. I had a burger that was just okay. Then our room was ready- we checked in and quickly settled in and enjoyed the view. This place is gorgeous- our ocean front room is steps from the ocean; there are hammock and chairs and a blue pool that was calling our name. But we just chilled for a while and a little later we borrowed the bicycles and rode down to the store for some wine and beer. We passed the bowling alley on the way and almost stopped in for a game or 2!

Thursday Night after our bike ride and some chill time- we realized we were still full from our beach lunch. We headed to the bar – 16degrees and had a few apples and some tropical rum drinks. We hung out with the bartenders and had a great evening chillaxing. This resort is beautiful- it is on a very narrow part of the spit that is Placencia. The front where we were looked out on the ocean and the restaurant and bar are on the lagoon side. A great place to see the sunset over the sleeping giant mountain range. I think I’m going to like it a lot here.
